The first event of the season got underway at Potters Bar Pool Club, Cardiff this weekend, and as usual there were plenty of surprise results. So another season starts with some familiar faces in the final. This now being a qualifying tour to gain selection to the Welsh world rules team for 2012, anything could happen in this quality field of players.
The following players will now be seeded for event 2:
1) Ryan John
2) Russell Burgess
3) Huw Salmon
4) Craig Marsh
5) Mike Beckett
6) Ben Davies
7) Antony Doble
8) Oly Bale
Our club tour final was between Steve Martin and Andy Corten. Steve was always the stronger player as he ran out 5 0 to win the first club event. The club event is open to players who have not played for Wales A in the past 2 years or any professional pool player.
I would like to thank Kevin and his staff at Potters for their support during the day. Kevin is the new owner of potters and we are glad to be working with him at potters again this season. So I look forward to seeing you all there again in August.
