The second event of the season got underway at Potters Bar Pool Club, Cardiff this weekend, and as usual there were plenty of surprise results. Congratulations to Kristian Phillips who beat Simon Ward 8 – 4 in the final. Kristian beat some quality players in the draw to come through as he beat Mike Beckett 6 – 0, Huw Salmon 7 – 1, Rich Gifford 7 – 3 and Simon Ward in the final 8 – 4.
This was the first tour title win for Kristian and puts him in the top 8 seeds for event 3 draw.

So the second event ends with a new face in the final. This now being a qualifying tour to gain selection to the Welsh world rules team for 2012, anything could happen in this quality field of players.

Our club tour final was between Kyle Edwards and Dan Garwood. Dan was always the stronger player as he ran out 5 – 1 to win the second club event. The club event is open to players who have not played for Wales “A” in the past 2 years or any professional pool player.
I would like to thank Kevin and his staff at Potters for their support during the day. Kevin is the new owner of potters and we are glad to be working with him at potters again this season. So I look forward to seeing you all there again in August.
