Wales Special Pool
It is with regret that the above trials scheduled for Saturday 9th April have had to be postponed.
The PFW and WPA are currently in discussions concerning the running of World Rules pool in Wales and a meeting to finalize these matters will take place in the next two weeks.
A new date will be set in May 2011.
Sorry for the short notice, but it was unavoidable.
The first event of the season got underway at Lyons Robin Hood Holiday camp last weekend, and as usual there were plenty of surprise results. Congratulations to Wayne Smith who beat Mike Jones 8 3 in the final. Wayne had a difficult section of the draw to come through as he beat Paul Hughes 5 1, Carl Evans 6 0, Andy Yates 7 5, Adrian Naggington 7 0, and Mike Jones in the final 8 3.
Just to remind players that the top four players in the rankings will qualify for the WPA welsh squad for 2012.
Here are the results from the last 16:
Last 16
Adrian Naggington 6 v 3 Joe Stuart
Mike Smout 3 v 6 Colin Healy
Andy Yates 6 v 2 Sean Lewis
Wayne Smith 6 v 0 Carl Evans
Garrin Amies 6 v 2 Carl Owen
Deiniol Roberts 6 v 5 Chris Rushton
Mike Jones 6 v 2 Chris Rowlands
Mike Noden 6 v 3 Nick Durkin
Quarter Finals
Adrian Naggington 7 v 6 Colin Healy
Andy Yates 5 v 7 Wayne Smith
Garrin Amies 7 v 6 Deiniol Roberts
Mike Jones 7 v 6 Mike Noden
Semi Finals
Wayne Smith 7 v 0 Adrian Naggington
Mike Jones 7 v 4 Garrin Amies
Final
Wayne Smith 8 v 3 Mike Jones
I would like to thank Alan Marshall and Kenny Kyle for setting up the tables and the room along with all the staff at Lyons Robin Hood for their support during the day, and look forward to our return once again on Saturday 21st May 2011 for event 2.
